B.I.G. – The Best Of.. (Hosted by Mister Cee) [Mixtape].

In just a few short years, Notorious B.I.G. rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. B.I.G. was a gifted storyteller; his narratives about violent life on the streets were told with a gritty, objective realism that won him enormous respect and credibility. His stories were universal and gave a voice to his generation. R.I.P. The Notorious B.I.G.

I’m a big fan of Dru Hill, always have been. Not just because they are from the 410 but because they’re music is so awesome

they’re R & B has always been so good (cant think of a way to articulate my thoughts unfortunately)

I’m sure everyone within the span of my blog has heard of them. They ruled the 90’s.

But sadly, like all good things, they subsequently broke up. Heartbreaking. And after they’re botched attempt at a reunion on 92Q *smh*

BUT they are coming back ! Idk how excited I should be because Woody isn’t returning but still. He was replaced by this new nigga Tao that won that contest on 92Q (ironically).

The album set to release on April 13 will be called “InDRUpendence” . I’ll buy it, hopefully I won’t be disappointed..

This was one of the first songs that I grew up on and turned me onto that good soul music

When I was little, I heard this song and was amazed at the notes they hit

and then I heard the acapella..

Blown away

anyway, here’s the video for If I Ever Fall In Love Again by Shai

and as a bonus, this is the acapella version:

Lyfe Jennings is by far one of my favorite R & B and it is my humble opinion that he is one of the most underrated artists of the decade

The man is one of the few artists left who actually talk about something

His lyrics are so real and the topics are so easy to relate to, you can’t help but feel him.

He been thru so much and you can really hear the pain in the music. I also think he is one of the best live artists, in terms of sound.

These are a few clips of him performing live.

in prison..

at the apollo(sorry for the poor quality)

and Good Morning America

Did you hear that note from 3:45-3:54?? Hands Down one of the best.

And Finally one of his newer videos…Will I Ever.

I’m gonna start puttin up throwback songs that really influenced me as a kid

Sometimes these songs were simply songs that I loved through adolescence, but all were unique in their own respect.
